Public Notice of Availability of Data
Under EPA's Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR), water systems were required to monitor treated water entering the distribution system for a list of contaminants which are currently unregulated. EPA plans to use data generated by the UCMR to prioritize contaminants on the Drinking Water Contaminant Candidate List, a list of contaminants EPA is considering for possible new drinking water standards. Alexander City is providing notice to each customer served by the water system of the availability of results from samples collected from its water system on July 21, 2003 and June 11, 2004. There were no detects of any of the contaminants monitored by Alexander City in accordance with the UCMR. Analytical results are available to the public by calling Adam's Water Treatment Facility at (256) 409-2035. Results are also posted and can be obtained from the City's website at alexandercityonline.com. Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
