Mission Statement
The mission of the Alexander City Police Department is to ensure public safety and the enhancement of the quality of community life by enforcing the law in a manner consistent with the rights of all citizens. The Department will provide service committed to the values of integrity, fairness, ethics, and the Departmental members who serve it. The Department will remain progressive and well trained by developing and utilizing innovative programs aimed at achieving excellence in the delivery of police services.
Function of Department
The Alexander City Police Department utilizes all divisions of the law enforcement to protect and serve the community and citizens of Alexander City in an effective and efficient manner through the wise use and management of all resources. In addition to officers patrolling the city in cars, the Police Department includes: Criminal Investigations capabilities, Crime Prevention Unit, Animal Control Services, D.A.R.E. Operations, Special Response Group, S.W.A.T. Operations, Traffic Unit and Community Safety Operations.
