Welcome to the Alexander City Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division. This division initiates proactive criminal investigations and does follow-up investigations on all criminal offenses reported in our community. The primary function of the division is to ensure that cases are complete and properly prepared for prosecution. The division is commanded by Lt. Fred Roth.
Investigators within the division are assigned to various specialized sections. As a result of specialization they develop a high level of expertise in dealing with specific types of crime and crime victims.
