City of Alexander City Animal Control Unit

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM .

Animal Control Officers Investigate reports of animal cruelty and neglect, animal bites, injured animals, stray animals and complaints of barking dogs. The City of Alexander City Veterinarian and Animal Handlers provide treatment and care of all animals brought into the City of Alexander City Animal Shelter .

The Animal Control Section is responsible for the regulation, control, and prevention of rabies in the wild and domesticated animal population of the City. It is further responsible for the impoundment of animals found at large or unlicensed and the enforcement of those laws and ordinances applying to animals within the City.

An Animal Control Officer is available to handle emergency situations 24/7.
